First...you've given little info except for budget. There are lots of threads on this subject here already...look around! There are a gazillion boats available in your price range.
He did give an expected sailing area and usage too. He is a bit vague on size and other requirements though.

SD...OK...but I'm tired of answering the same damn question over and over when a simple look through the messages would yield two days worth of opinions and suitable boats. Especially when we don't know how many people abord, prior sailing experience etc. .... the whole idea of the "thorny/thornless path" is that virtually any well maintained boat can do it.
I'd have to agree with you there... too many of the threads are some variant of "What boat should I buy..." and if they had half a clue, they'd be able to figure it out from what is said on the other threads. Especially since, most of the other threads touch on what boats are suitable for what uses...and discuss a wide range of boat sizes and prices.
