Advice on 30-35' performance cruiser
We owned a Catalina 22 for a year, and a Catalina 30 for about three years. We have done coastal day sailing off the Florida east coast. We sold the Catalina a few years ago and are looking for a replacement now.
The boat would be for mostly day sailing. We will be retiring in a year or two, and will probably sail up the coast for longer trips, perhaps to the Bahamas, but we have no desire to live on the boat.
We recently sailed a 33 C&C and found her to be a very nice boat, very stiff, fairly fast. Can anyone suggest anything else we might look at, interested in spending $35K or less, 30-35 foot range, performance oriented, but with some cruising amenities for staying aboard for several weeks at a time? The Catalina heeled excessively at 18 knots or more, and we found the C&C didn't, a feature that made my wife feel more secure. Your suggestions are welcome.
