Orthomartin...we looked seriously at Moody's back a few years ago since they were one of the few CC boats being made in our size range. They are definitely blue-water capable and have well executed and striking interiors that are well above the standard of production boats. What I did not like was that stuff that could not be seen did not seem to be up to the same standard as the stuff designed to catch the eye. One example I recall was that marine plywood was left with exposed edges and not sealed to prevent moisture ingress. Ultimately, we thought that the boat was suitable to our purpose but overpriced vs. boats like Hylas and Passport which we felt were built better overall. Much of that may simply have been the exchange rate. So...I guess my advice is that the boat should be fine for your intended use and especially so if you can get her at a good price...but look carefully in the bilges, behind the settees, at the chainplates etc. and make sure that all the underlying systems and constuction are to your standards and in good shape. They really are gorgeous boats and will stop traffic on any dock! Good luck.
