Umm... $120-150K is not really going to purchase much in the way of a new boat in that size range. Most 36-40' boats are going to be a good deal more expensive than that.
Also, unless the boat is a catamaran, you won't have the space aboard to have both crew and customers aboard. Even with a 40' catamaran, you're going to find that it is a bit small for crewed charters generally.
Where are you planning on registering or documenting the boat? BTW, if you're going for financing, it would probably be easier to get if you document the boat with the USCG, rather than state register it. USCG documentation will probably be required if you're chartering it in the Caribbean.
As for where to buy, you should probably purchase it in whatever state you're going to register/document the boat. I would guess that the boat will still need some outfitting and preparation before heading down to the Caribbean.

Anyone have recommendations for any particular boat finance company?
Best state to buy in (we'd probably want to take possession on the east coast since the boat is headed to the Caribbean)?
Any suggestions/advice is welcome...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
