Well we went and did it..

Faxed the acceptance form this morning, so if all goes well we will be proud boat owners some time next week of a 1997 Hylas 46.

We will be trucking her across the country to Seattle.. My fiance and I will be spending the first couple days of our honeymoon preparing the boat for transport. Yes she is just excited about this as I am

Near term plans are to cruise in the Puget Sound, then potentially sell the house and move aboard for a few years, spend time cruising more of the west coast down to Mexico. No plans to cut all our ties yet and take off, though we think the bug may bite us hard.

paul

p.s. yes, many people have questioned the sanity of planning a wedding and a boat purchase at the same time, I think we will prove that it can be done.

Forget the wedding, spend the money on the boat! That doesn't mean don't get married, my wife (of 18 years) and I got hitched by a bail bondsman in Jax. The boat can be your gift to each other!

yeah we are having the regular expensive kind of wedding, though we did register at west marine! CruisingDad will be proud, we registered for a gas grille.. (and my sis bought it for us) Turns out the boat does have a charcoal grille though. Should we keep both?
