Bought my Boat! Sabre 34

Thanks to all for the help.

I bought the 1987 Sabre 34 that was for sale in Oriental NC. She's now on the hard having her bottom stripped. She'll have all new standing rigging before the winter is out as well.

Last Shameless Plug - Tred Avon Yacht Sales was professional and knowledgeable. Brett Starke is the gentleman that I worked with. (Usual disclaimers NFI etc.)

If anyone has any interest in purchasing a boat and would like a broker in the MD area. I enthusiastically recommend these guys.

I'll be putting on new barrier coat over the next few weeks, then bottom paint. Then some upgrades to the running rigging. I've reserved Easter week to sail her from Oriental to the Magothy River (Ches. bay).

All the very best,
Craig
(see you in the "Gear and Maintenance" Room...)

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Well... the leading candidate is

Saoirse

Pronounced "Sehr - sha"

It means 'Freedom' in Irish.

The boat currently doesn't have a name! So I get to be the first to officially name her!

Yay!

CapnRon47 is on a distinguished road
Congrats

Good luck with your new boat. Is that the centerboard Sabre 34 that was listed in Oriental on Yachtworld?

Craig -- Congrats. The S-34 is a great boat. I was lucky enough to spend a week sailing Lake Michigan on Denr's S-34 a few years ago. Really nice boat. (Reminds me to email Denr and wake him up.)

Give me a holler when you get her to the Magothy. I sail out of Rock Creek on the Patapsco, as do a couple of others on the list (the 2 Chef's.) You can join us when we have a rendezvous this season.
