Need help isentifying this boat

Hello all,

Anyone have an idea what make and approx what year this boat is? It's a 15 footer and I'm thinking of buying it (CHEAP) and fixing it up but the seller has no idea what make it is.

Thanks.

The seller said he will try to get some more pics today. Specifically some close ups and pics of the cabin interior.

Awesome. thanks for the info. Now I can poke around and see just how much it's gonna cost me to fix it up. According to the seller it only has 1 sail (likely the jib) and no boom or rudder. The rudder I could do fairly easily but the boom might be a bit of a trick. I 'm thinking for the sail I could probably use my sabot sail as a guide and just scale it up to fit the mast then fashion a boom of proper length. Another nice thing is it looks like I might be able to get away without having to register/title it since the LWL is just at the limit for NC.

There appear to be an awful lot of missing pieces, is the centerboard in the boat ?

It's a cool little boat, and it's already stripped for you, one hard part done. You can find parts for or adapt parts to that boat pretty easily (windows, rubrail, rigging, etc...)

Do they have the missing pieces or do you need to buy, beg, borrow, or steal them? You may find that the sum of the parts is greater than buying a complete boat.

capttb - Yes the swingkeel/board is there. I haven't looked at it first hand yet but plan too before buying. The guy is asking $400 but I might offer $250 and go up from there. He bought it originally to fix up but never did.

eMKay - ya it looks like a fun project. Thanks to those links you posted (and a few more I found) it shouldn't be too hard to fix it up. I'm mostly happy that the mast and keel/board are included as well as the trailer. The rest should be pretty easy.

AllanBC - I'm not sure yet what all is with the boat. I'll probably take inventory when I go see it in person before buying it. At a minimum I'm expecting to have to buy the running rigging, buy or make a boom, and buy or make a mainsail. He said the stays are on the mast but not sure whether deck hardware is there or not. A lot will depend on what it looks like in person. That will be the biggest factor in my decision to buy or not.

That trailer looks like it's too large for the boat, but looks like it will fit mine just fine, wanna trade? I had to modify mine to fit my keel.
