Who insures ferros?

Does anyone know of any Insurance company who are willing to insure Ferro-cement yachts?

I don't know if you are allowed to give out names but maybe you could email me, but we are desperate to find an insurance company willing to cover a Ferro yacht in Australia. ( rohsaan1 at hotmail dot com ).

We currently own the boat but feel that when we sell it (coz it's too small for our increasing number of children) we wont get much money for it, unless we offer potential buyers the name of at least one insurance company who are willing to cover them. Our current insurer no longer does Ferro boats and so the policy we have will not be offered to a new owner.

Surely there is some place out there who covers Ferros! otherwise, what do everyone else who own Ferro-cement boats do?

Please help!

Cement Vessel

Did the insurance carrier give an explanation why they discontinued coverage on your cement hull?

Hi,

Nautilus Marine Insurance might if you to talk directly to your state manager, be a bit insistant and can show the boat is a good insurance risk for them, but they will want an arm and a leg.

GIO were doing it for existing cutomers in NSW only, must have another type of policy with GIO ie house.

3rd party insurance is available fairly readily of course.

Really there is no reason why they won't insure a well found ferro vessel especially as they insure some real crap built out of other materials.

Cheers

Ian
