Need Information

I have looked in various places to find this but had no luck.The core material of a seafarer on deck and cabin areas is one of the following Balsa foam or plywood this is not a test,I just want to know.

I have a circa 1970 S22 Kestrel and it has a ply deck.

Ken, if you want to make sure?

Take a drill, put some tape on the drill bit or buy a depth guage so you can't go all the way through the deck, and drill a hole in the underside of the deck to see what's in there. Cover it with a plug if there's no overhead or liner to hide it with. Fill it in again with MarineTex when you're done.

It may be different in different places on the deck. It is definitely worth doing a core-drill to find out what it is in the location you're questioning.
