Seafarer 30

I will be looking at a Lake Michigan based 1978 Seafarer 30 next weekend. I''m unsure of what the core material in the deck is and how it has held up. Also would appreciate any comments relating to the rudder; or any other comments on this particular line of boats.
Thank you.

Seafarer 30

Last summer I purchased 1974 Seafarer 29 (McCurdy/Rhodes). I''ve only sailed her in the St Johns river and love the way she sails, especially when she stiffens up at 15+ knots. The person I bought her from sailed her all over the Bahamas for 6 months with no problems. Construction wise, it''s very solid (no soft spots anywhere) & fairly heavy for its size. I did a bottom job shortly after I bought her and there were no blisters at all. The rudder was completely replaced with a steel unit prior to my purchase, as someone else mentioned, that seems to be a problem with Seafarers. My only complaint would be the cramped cabin, however, the cockpit is very spacious. Overall, I''m very happy with her.

Regards,
Jamie
