Anne:

Assuming you''ll be in San Diego for a short stay - and given the HUGE spread of boats which will fit your overly general description - your best bet is most likley to use a local broker to help you sort thru the myriad of boat ''types'' sufficient to look at a few in productive fashion.

As ''prework'', I''d suggest you spend a little time at Yachtworld.com, do some selective searching among the many boats for sale, and see which SD brokers tend to pop up as representing boats like the ones you find interesting. Then contact one (or perhaps two, if in different areas around the Bay, e.g. Shelter Is. but also Oceanside) brokers ahead of time, make an appointment, and plan on a long day with some comfy shoes.

Good luck...

Jack
