Craizing

The whole bottom of a Beneteau 32s5 has the craize and has to be ground out and repaired. The cracks have not penetrated the laminate as yet. I am told by the yard that it is now weeping and a milky washed out liquid is oozing out and mineral in nature leaving a green crystalyne deposit in some of the cracks. In addition the craizing on one side has risen above the boot stripe about 5 inches and will ground out and also repaired. This is taken into consideration in my offer. I am now concerned as to what the nature of the deposit is and if craizing and delamination will occur in the future.

If you really don''t understand the problem, how have you "taken it in consideration in your offer"?!! Did you pull back $3,000 or $30,000? Which number if either will actually be enough?
Consider no one''s opinion on such a situation except your surveyor, and even then you have to be willing to accept some risk (think $$$)if you proceed even well advised. Beneteaus have solid glass hulls and a situation like you describe is something I''ve never heard of with such a boat. My advice is to run from this boat, quickly as possible - leave if to a newbie or a gambler. Understand that the seller has a solid knowledge of whatever the real problem and probable cost of repair is, and can/will drop the price to sweeeten the apprearance of the deal to you, as long as he stays well above his inside knowledge of value - repair costs.
