C&C35 MK III Shower Sump

I just purchased and am trying to have a shower installed into a 1984 C&C 35 MK III. I know of several of these boats that have showers in them but the boatyard is telling me that there is no space between the shower pan and the hull into which to run a drain hose. Can any owner of a 35 MK III please verify that they have a shower drain in their boat and provide to me how that drain is routed to a discharge pump.
Thank you,
Dave J

Hose goes though the side of the sump up under the sink to the pump.

Re: C&C35 MK III Shower Sump

Thank you. Does the hose exit the pan "sump" on the aft facing side and take a 90 degree turn to where the sink is or does it exit on the port side and go directly to beneath the sink? What is the diameter of the drain hose? I don't know if yours was plumbed at the factory but if not do you think it is possible to get that drain hose routed between the floor of the shower and the inside of the hull?

The half inch hose hey good it at the front inboard side of the pump and somehow spins around. The half inch hose exit the front of the salt and Ben's around and ends up under the sink

JS

I'm guessing that like me your fingers are bigger than your keyboard keys :-)

I can't decipher "... hose hey good..." and "...exit the front of the salt...".

I know it's unlikely but do you have a photo of the pump and hoses under your sink?

Thanks,
Dave J

Sorry, SIRI sucks some times!

1/2 hose exits from the front of the sump, curves to port and under the sink.

Re: C&C35 MK III Shower Sump

Last questions (I hope); When the hose comes out of the sump and up to the pump is it visible beneath the V- berth or does is run under the shower pan for it's entire length? Also, do you have a strainer in the sump attached to the end of the hose?

No problem. It does not go under the Vee berth. I suspect you can use the curve of the hose to fish it up under the sink compartment. I do have a strainer.

Re: C&C35 MK III Shower Sump

There is a hole in the sump Fwd inboard. How the hell you are supposed to get at it I cant figure out.
at one time my boat had hot cold pressure water the system must have failed and is all disconnected.
If I remember right it used to drain into sink drain. or reciculate. yuk.

I would like to refit water system if not to expensive.
Though you do tend to go through a lot more if you have running water instead of a foot pump.
I also don't have heat. so luxuries are likely to be by priority.
