Tides Strong Track System
Has anyone put this on their C&C. Seems the curvature of the original mastrs are special, Anyone using any other main sail system?

I have Strong Track on my Ontario 32, which is a C&C design. I bought it with my Doyle Stack Pack and am more than pleased with it.

When we measured the mast last week for the track we notinced the front part of the mast was not flat. We are concerned that when we put the track in the slot that the only thing holding the track in will be the wedge ( hard to visualize) of the track inside the mast, and because the outside front of the mast is not flat the track may rotate under a load.

Does your Ontario have a similar mast? If so has this been a problem. I really want to go with this system as it seems the best and like you said most who use it are pleased with it. We are getting a new Quantum full batten main which makes it even more important to have it.

All I can tell you for sure is that my track fits snugly into the mast slot with no play side to side. I would suggest you e-mail strong track with your concerns and see if they can either resolve them or possibly send you a short piece of track to verify for yourself how it fits. To the best of my knowledge, mast tracks are of uniform size.

If you do decide it will work for you, I think you'll be more than pleased with it.

I am sure Gert Tiel fitted one of these tracks on his C&C 35 'Symphony'. Since he was responsible for building these boats at C&C I have no doubt that it works. You might call our mutual sailmaker Jaime Day at Sportech Sails in St Catherine's, ON and query him on the procedure as he and Gert were seen installing it. I intend to put one on my C&C 29 this spring..

When you order the track, the company will send you a gauge to determine what slides you need. Then when they send the track, you will receive a short section that you are supposed to use to make sure all is well.
I've installed many of these systems and have never had a customer who was not happy with the decision.
