How do I set up the berth under the dining table?
Hi All,

I just purchased a 1977 C&C 27 Mark III. I really love it. I am new to sailing however and this is my first boat. I have a simple question: How do you set up the berth where the table is? Is there a piece of wood that goes into the holes? I can't find any reference to the set up in the manual, nor can I find a piece of wood that would fit on the boat.

Simple I know. It has perplexed two friends that are way smarter than me.

On this type of boat, the table is usually lowered to infill the open space between the seats and the seat back cushions are laid on top of the table top to complete the settee conversion.

Lower the table It should fit the space and rest on pieces. You may have to take out the broze pedestal piece if it is like my C&C35MKIII.

The extra cushions are for the table. Put some thin mat/ memory foam used under sleeping bags under them to keep them from sliding.

NIce boat how about some pictures?

Hp Lou and Dave, Thank you for the reply. I think I am missing the piece of wood that goes between the settee's. Do you have any pictures of that piece?

Your table is positioned on the port side between two "benches. It should drop down or the pedestal should be removed and it should lay flat in the speace between the two port neches on wooden supports to form a bed.
