Does anyone know what I'm talking about??

I have seen the rare sailboat with what I can only describe as a long bag along the boom into which the mainsail will collapse when dropped. I have attempted to describe this to canvas people and they look at me like I'm on drugs.

Does anyone know what it's called and where I can acquire such a thing. I'm lazy and I'd like to be able to drop the main as needed and have it just drop into the bag.

The one I saw had a big zipper along the top of it, so when you come to the dock you just zip it up and you're done. Nice.

os ... you are talking to the wrong canvas people if they don't know what a boom bag is. Yes there is the StackPack but also plenty of generic varieties.

Besides the "bag", the StackPak has a membrane sown from the bag to the sail, that pulls the bag tight to the sail when the sail is raised. It also comes with lazy jacks.
