Opening Ports for C&C 38 Main Cabin?

Has anyone found opening ports that can replace the usual four (2 on each side) long fixed portlights on the C&C 38 main cabin?

You will have to glass the whole side in and do it that way, I have seen that done. I lot of work for a small amount of ventilation. If you windows leak....most C&C do at some time. New ones can be boght and the retrofit and install today is better than the original. C&C Windows are one of the brands weak spots in the 70's and 80s

I came across Wally Bryant's project on Stella Blue, where he fitted aluminum plates on the outside, filled wide plywood, and then installed 4 Newfound Metal ports in each side. Very nicely done but still, four small ports where there had been two larger portlights.

I've done similar on another boat so that approach works for me, but I was wondering if anyone had found a particular opening port that more closely fitted the holes, i.e. just 2/side. Once in a while you find ports on sale, overstocks or discontinued, whatever, butof course whatever size you have in mind, they're usually 1/2" off in a way that makes it impossible. I'm sure you know the feeling.

you can get them at HMP marine (check net)
I installed them year 2000 and they are still ok
