M-25 Temperature Sending Unit

I recently purchased a new to me 85' Catalina 30. The temperature gauge doesn't work. I've proven that the temperature sending unit is the problem. I was looking as torrenson and its $80. Is there a cheaper place/way to acquire one? I would think I should be able to get it from an auto parts store if I knew the right part number.

Thanks

Re: M-25 Temperature Sending Unit

ANY automotive temperature sender that covers the same range, and which has the right threads will work. If memory serves, the threads are SAE, but I do not recall the thread pitch.

Re: M-25 Temperature Sending Unit

Pull the one that you have off the engine, and bring it in to the auto parts store.
