Which port? Are you talking about the portlight in the hull? If so I would not say its common but when I was shopping I did see a C320 and a C36 that had leaked around the portlight in the hull and it let me to believe it was a problem waiting to happen and that when it did, it would be hard to do much about once the wood slatting was stained.
It was one of the reasons I focused my search on that narrow range of boats that didn't have portlights in the hull and did have the walkthrough transom.
