Cool C380 List Server is gone

According to other posts on the Sailnet forum the old email list server has been permanently deactivated and this is supposed to replace it.

Let's hope it works. They say you can set up your copmputer to receive email notifications of new posts.

New Forum

Interesting that one reason given for disabling old forum was "...primarily due to declining activity..." Seems as if the activity declined only after the list was disabled.

Hopefully useful comments will continue in this new setting of internet ads.

Any Idea

What the rest of the 380 Group is going to do? Are we going to rebuild the list or go somewhere else?

380 list

All,

There are a number of us signed up on a Yahoo 380 list that was set up when Sailnet went AWOL 3 years ago. Here is a link to it:

Catalina380 : Catalina 380/390/387 sailboats

This group distributes messages via email like the old Sailnet list.

Several of the class officers are out sailing so nothing has been finalized at this point. I'd suggest signing up for the Yahoo group and monitoring this forum as well for the time being til we settle on an option.

If you received a message from the old list on 7/19 or 7/20, and the subject is "Rocna Anchor", my direct email address is in that message. I don't want to post it here in a web forum where spambots or other web crawlers might get it.

Thanks,

Jim Norman
