A gathering of Cabos on the Bay-2014

In discussing our group getting together the weekend of June 13, 2014 at Lankford Bay Marina, all is GOOD. They have one of the regional Power Squadrons booked for that weekend and they have booked the pavilion at the marina.

We can have the space on the lawn like we used last year or we can potentially get the bus to take us to town. Maybe the weather should be our guide?

In light of being a second booking, those who want slip space or a mooring ball should contact Lankford Bay Marina to reserve what you would like. You may talk to Barb or Cheryl at 410 778-1414. Barb did advise that the Power Squadron brings some very large vessels so you may want to book something early.

I am so excited you would like to return to LBM for this get together. I will be doing my usual "out of town" travel each week until then so it will be nice to look forward to having an opportunity to relax with boating friends.

Good sailing and safe travels!

Leslie

Oh, my goodness, it was such fun to get together! Thank you June and Duane for suggesting it, all your hard work in food prep and just getting up here! Thank you Tom and Cheryl for the chow (I will be getting Bubba Burgers from now on) and all the Cabo Rico hats and shirts! That was so unexpected! Thierry thank you for all your shared knowledge and delightful humor.

It was wonderful to catch up with the activities that everyone was planning and enjoy the opportunity to just get to know each other better. The weather was such a gift with comfortable temperatures and after the wet weekdays, lots of sunshine and little humidity. How did we ever luck out with that? June, you and Duane must have brought that weather with you!

For all who could not attend, you were missed! It is always fun to see multiple Cabo's sailing out together. A beautiful sight, indeed. We would have loved to have you there.

'til next time,

Leslie

It *WAS* a lot of fun reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Cheryl and I had a wonderful time. Thanks Leslie and Clay for again helping set up the venue. Lankford Bay is a beautiful spot. It was really great meeting June and Duane, thanks for making the journey. Friends were made, lies were told, and wine was spilled, what more could you ask for. -Tom

Re: A gathering of Cabos on the Bay-2014

We had a wonderful time! Turns out that Cabo Rico boats naturally attract the nicest, most fun (handsome and smart) owners! It is great to hear the stories of past adventures and share future plans.

Of course it was great to reconnect with Thierry and we are so glad to finally meet Leslie and Clayton and Tom and Cheryl. Great food, Great fun. We look forward to getting together again.

After we left Lankford Bay, SeaClearly and Curlew sailed to Harness Creek and rafted up for the night.

Re: A gathering of Cabos on the Bay-2014

Hello All,
'Cabo' Larry here. Yes, I have the distinction of being the past president of CR with the shortest tenure! Long story with an unhappy ending. However, I did have artwork prepared for CR apparel which we used at the last (for CR) US Sailboat Show in Annapolis. I paid for the setup out of my own pocket, so I own it. I had three items produced. They include a really great cap, a Nike quality golf shirt, and a blue denim long sleeve shirt. Several people saw them at the boat show and wanted some. I then had a small production run made, of which I sold a few, essentially at cost. I sent the remainder to Tom to distribute as he saw fit. As I recall, the caps were about $20. The golf shirts were about $30, and the denim shirts were about $40. The logos were two color. Everything was embroidered. Perhaps someone on this distribution can offer their opinion regarding the quality. I still wear mine regularly (as recently as last Sunday) and they still look amazingly good.

The company I use handles the branding for my businesses, so I get decent prices (at least I think so!). If enough of you are interested, I'm willing to order a run for you. In order for it to be cost effective, you will need to order at least 25 units of each style. The golf shirts were available in both women and men's styles, with sizes ranging from small to 3X. The blue denims are all men's styles, again ranging from small to 3X.

Talk among yourselves and see if you have enough interest. If so, I will get current pricing (my prices were about three years ago.)

LV

PS I have kept my CR garb, in hopes that I will someday graduate from my Jeanneau to a CR!!
