Cal 31 owners out there?

Did you ever get a response? I am on the Cal Boats list and just happened upon your question by googling "Cal 31". Now I am on this list as well.......I purchased a Cal 31 last year. My first sailboat and I love it. I have learned a lot, by both sailing/cruising and being a member of the Cal Boats list group. How can I help?

I've had a 1979 Cal 31 in the San Francisco Bay for 3 1/2 years, and really enjoyed it. I've done a number of projects on the boat. I'd love to be part of this discussion.

I recently bought a 1979 31' Cal with a 16 hp Universal.

The boat is in above average condition.

Just a few tweaks to the engine..she seems to be running cool.

Any tips?

Bought a 79' CAL 31 about a year ago. Been sailing it around Seattle since... Seems like a pretty sturdy boat. Not sure I have the guts for off-shore work just yet, but I'm pretty sure the boat is up to it!

Tenderness of Cal-31

I purchased a -79 Cal-31 recently and have discovered that I really miss a wheel.
Any advice on where I can get the pedestal and wheel set-up for this boat?

Last edited by schoonwake; 06-04-2009 at 12:46 AM. Reason: I bought the boat and it really sails well

Like to see some Cal31 photos...

Aloha Cal31 sailors,
Don't see many 31's in Hawaii. We're considering an eventual move up as our slip will hold a 34. I've seen some listed in San Diego,Ca. I'm 6'2" and would really like the headroom. It's 6'4" right? The built in liquor cabinet appeals to my sailing partner! Anyway, how about some pictures of your vessels. Summer's coming soon.
Good sailing.
Leonard
