speakers in Cal 30 cockpit

I have a Cal 30 in which we recently installed a stereo package, including reciever and speakers inside the cabin. What I want to do is also install speakers in the cockpit but my boat parteners are loathe to cut holes in the fiberglass - so I am wanting to minimize this.

If I install on the section between cockpit and cabin, there is already a compass installed on both port and starboard - I am concerned the speaker will interfere with the compass. If installed above the lazerette, the fiberglass section in at a fairly sharp incline and I am concerned water will not drain optimally (as it would if the face of the section were "plumb"). The only "plumb" face is at the very bottom, near the floor of the cockpit - also an area of concern to me regarding excess water entry. The back wall of the cockpit does not give a whole lot of room.

I am requesting advice from anyone who has successfully installed speakers in the cockpit of a CAL 30 or anyone else with good advice.
