About 5 years ago, just before Bill Lapworth died, a good friend of his, Roger Jones, a former Jensen Marine employee, met with Mr. Lapworth and they made photo copies of some of hte full-size drawings. These were made to order for several CAL owners on either the YAHOO Group of CAL owners of perhaps the old SailNet CAL-List, not sure. Anyway, this was done as a fundraiser for Rojer Jones' Reno, NV based Sailing non-profit organization. It was a limited run, with a donation of $100.00 per set (1-set = 1 boat design, example: CAL 29). I was out of work at the time and couldn't afford the price, and soon after the offer was made........ it ended. The drawings are now on file at Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic Connecticut. I'm not sure how available copies would be. Roger Jones passed away about 1-2 years later, and that totally ended the offer for copies. He was (rightly so) very protective of Mr. Lapworth's drawings and gave the order not to make further copies of the drawings.
I actually got very lucky...... since about 12 years ago, a fellow CAL 21 owner discovered that he had copies of 2 sheets of the CAL 21 drawings. I obtained a set of those after covering his cost of copying and mailing them. I might be able to do likewise... MAYBE.... But I would need to get a cost of making the copies first.
BTW: there are BIG differences between CAL 24 and T/4. The 24 was the first CAL and was a shallow, full keel with a large steel-plate centerboard housed inside, she appears to be a shallow-draft version of Bill Lapworth's earlier design, the Lapworth 24 (like DOVE, the boat sailed most of the way around hte world by Robin lee Graham). The CAL T/4 was the 3rd of 4 24' models built by CAL and was designed to the 1/4 Ton rule. She is sort-of a scaled down CAL 27 (pop-top) but with an outboard rudder. In between was the CAL 2-24 which looks like a slightly smaller CAL 25 (with a raised deck). The last CAL 24 model was the CAL 24 (aka CAL 24-3) designed by C.Raymond Hunt Associates in the early 1980's. The CAL 24 and 2-24 both had fractional rigs, and the T/4 and 24-3 had masthead rigs.
