Ideas on Sail & Rig Trim to make a Cal go

Hello I casually race a cal 36 and would appreciate any insight into Sail & Rig Trim to make a cal go. I have tried to find other Cal 36 owners that race and have found none. The folks that used to have sold their boats & the new owners typically cruise them. I thought that owners of simmilar boats may have some insight & good ideas.
Thanks
