cal 27 engine left me on the Jetties

Hi, My cal 27 Atomic 4 died yet again, this time I slammed into the rocks, to my amazement shedid not tear appart ehile getting hit by huge waves lifting her high enough for me to see the keel before she came back down on the rocks.
I have worked on the motor so many times, I have replaced everything I can think of. Still, every time the engine gives up, alost always at the worst moments. Can any one recomend a solid diesel replacement? How much am I gonna hate doing this? I will search for a used one cause I'm cheap, lol.
p.s. 25' wave+ 27' boat= prayer time

Glad the boat is OK. Have you posted here or at the Moyer site about the A-4. Both are good sources for info. Dan S/V Marian Claire 1965 A-4 with lots of miles and hrs.
