Just look on google maps, and you will see that this yacht club is walking distance to the (armed forces) airport:

Shearwater Yacht Club‎

1 Avenger Pl
Halifax, Nova Scotia B0J 3A0, Canada
(902) 469-8590
swyc.ca‎

other than that, you have to have a trailer-able boatr to get to the civilian airport (stanfield).

Now, if you kept going south to Yarmouth, then you would find an airport close to the water.

Hiee,

The 'Dartmouth Yacht Club' on Windmill road is the closest. This is a yacht club though. They do offer a transient dockage. There is an 'Enterprise' car rental roughly a mile from the club. Getting to the airport would be via taxi from the yacht club or you could also take the airport shuttle but it leaves from downtown Halifax. There is a city bus route on Windmill road that does go to downtown Halifax. There are NO real marina's in the Halifax area perse, all are yacht clubs; however most offer transient dockage spaces for a limited time.

Hope this helps.

The airport in Halifax is not near anything, including Halifax. We bought a boat that was in the Chester area and found that it was pretty convenient to take a bus from just outside the marina gate to the Halifax bus station and then another bus to the airport. If you find a suitable marina contact them and ask how one gets to the airport from their location.

The airport is about 30 minutes from Dartmouth, there is a shuttle bus from Holiday inn Dartmouth. There is a marina and mooring field at Alderney landing Dartmouth about 5-10 minute walk to Holiday Inn. You will need a dinghy if you take a mooring, may or may not get a slip. Lots of moorings.
