What repairs could they do??

The terminal is a wooden bus shelter and the runway like a narrow back street with a few feral goats keeping the grass down.

It has to be a special kind of disaster for an outisland runway to close. Must be a sink hole.

More remarkable will be how long they take to repair it. I knew a guy who hired locals to pour the slab for his beach house. He thought he was doing them a favor, by having a powered cement mixer imported for them. They refused to use it. They mix by hand in a wooden box. No need to rush, mahn.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Estimates are 2 months to repair, but govt contract so who knows?
Reason for closure is runway surface declared unsafe by inspector.
Govt team in Stanial and Black Point yesterday talking about establishing a ferry between the two communities.
Small boat traffic definately increased between the two now.

Problem is no regular inspection schedule, so inspector finally shoes ip and surprise, runway unsafe. Big shock to the island and carriers.
