Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean I have had a quick look on the forums cant see any threads that specialise on Pirates, with the recent attack in thailand and others in the Caribbean I was just wondering if it would be a good idea to have a new thread on this matter ,I am only suggesting this as i may be cruising the caribbean later this year and warning others of any incidents can only be a good thing.

There are no Pirates in the Caribbean.

There are, however, a few individuals who will occasionally sneak onto boats and pilfer whatever is available and unlocked. There is also some violence every now and then. All this is fairly rare and usually confined to certain locations on certain islands. Check out the Caribbean Safety and Security Net and Noonsite for specific reports of incidents over time.

Buy Chris Doyle's cruising guides for the Leewards and the Windwards, and for the Virgin Islands, either Scott or Pavlidis. You'll get a lot of the flavor of sailing here out of them.
