Nice people, nice place ... BUT ... no wind protection from those winter fronts. The good news is, you can watch the sunset from your slip. The bad news is, there's nothing between you and the wide ocean horizon, just a low strip of beach. The fairly deep entry can let enough wave action into the basin in the worst of a NW frontal passage to make the boats bounce around quite a bit, especially those on the east side of the basin. We spent about 2 weeks there hiding from an endless series of fronts about 2 years ago. For all its problems, we'd go back again next time we are in the region.
Great diving and snorkeling, beachcombing. I got the sense it was more of a powerboat/sportfisher place than a sailboat haven, but nice nevertheless. Grocery store nearby with a very good selection, feels like what you'd find in the States. If you're interested in ecology research, check out the institute (I forgot its name, but its contiguous with Cape Eleuthera Resort) next door. Hydroponics, solar energy, etc.

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. - Sidney J. Harris
Shameless self-promotion - my blog for the Annapolis Capital newspaper is moving to a new location: To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
