PR to Florida, with my American Bulldog...

Hi, I am hoping to find out if there are any people who boat from Puerto Rico to Florida/anywhere Eastern Seaboard. Need to relocate and my American Bulldog's breed has been embargoed on the commercial airlines. I prefer anyhow not to fly him as cargo. He is a large animal but well trained, and has a great temperment. This has become a dilema for me as I can't see myself leaving him behind. Any tips/help/advice. Thank you!!!

You might want to check with the airline directly- pet embargos are usually seasonal and related to temperature.

Short-nosed dog breeds more likely to die in flight - DVM

"The embargo applied to all types of bulldogs, plus pitbulls and American Staffordshire Terriers, but was relaxed by October 2009 when Continental changed its policy to allow puppies of those breeds to fly only when temperatures are below 85 degrees"
