Cruising pics and blog BVI, St. Martin,Barths,Eustatius and Kitts

I've been bouncing around the islands on Zanshin since December and have been trying to learn how to use my new camera, a Nikon D7000, in order to take and produce better pictures. I've been posting some of them in daily reports (along with some text) and if anyone in the forum has the Caribbean blues, prompted by cold weather outside and perhaps even some snow in sight, then perhaps you'd take a look at some of the entries at Zanshin January Blog and Zanshin February Blog or look at the main calendar page at Main Calendar

(There are no ads or anything commercial on my site, it is just my boat's presence on the web)

Smack-san, I am having a blast but wish that my female company had joined me; but I am happy with what I have. 25-30 knots and 10feet swell at 8 seconds today, so I'm sticking in this anchorage but really look forward to seeing Montserrat when the winds subside!

I've been reading through January's stuff. It's really well-done dude. With the pics and descriptions of each day, it's easy to get a sense of life aboard in the islands.

I totally understand about life being a lot better with some curvy company aboard. Oh well, at least you've got that cool wooden bird on your bulkhead to talk to! Heh-heh.

zz4gta - I used mineral spirits to dissolve the heavy grease covering on the winch parts and then a big gust of wind sprayed the contents across the cockpit. I spent most of yesterday cleaning the cockpit (more mineral spirits, rubbing compound and wax) - I would rather have done something else.
At least tonight I'll have company aboard for drinks and a movie - my anchorage neighbours from Arita and Ti Kanot. I haven't used my TV set on this trip so I'll check it out now to see if it still works.

The movie was good, as was the company - for those who have cruised the Caribbean, my guest from the catamaran Ti Kanot was Chris Doyle, who writes the popular guides.

tdw - I have Harken winches and they come apart and go back together quite easily and don't have too many little bits and pieces that go overboard.
