My son and I will be staying just outside Marigot, St. Martin the second and third weeks of June. We are 2-1/2 years away in our plan to buy a sailboat, hopefully in the Florida Keys - then cruise the Bahamas and Caribbean. In the meantime we've been sailing lakes in Colorado, though we have ocean time on a catamaran and small fishing boats. I completed my ASA 101 and 103 courses three years again and have sailed three summers.
We would love a chance to visit a 'real' cruising boat and speak with folks doing what we're dreaming about. We would be happy to return the favor with food and drink at a local restaurant, or equivalent. The local sailing club limits rentals to four hours a shot and the J22s we have been on pale in comparison to the cruising sailboats we've seen in Port Lucaya, Papeete and Zihuatanejo.
If you will be in Marigot around those dates and have the time and an inkling to help two dreaming and scheming land lubbers tour a boat and listen to your stories (and never doubting a word) we are happy to return the favor with some fine food at a restaurant.
Thanks - I can be reached via PM here or joelsanda at dwimordene dot net.
