Keel Bolts on 1978 Catalina 30

Folks, I have a 1978 Catalina 30 hull number 1020 with a fin keel. A recent survey indicated that my keel bolts were rusty and needed some attention. I found a good article in Practical Sailor which described methods to address a number of keel bolt repairs. My problem is I have not been able to find any diagram which describes the exact configuration of the keel bolts on my boat. I did purchase a keel boat repair kit from Catalina Direct. I was quite disappointed when this kit did not include any instructions or diagrams. If anyone has information on the keel bolt configuration of this boat, and any suggestions on this repair, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Russ

Rheaton...suggest you might get more and better answers from the Catalina 30 mail list/forum...

I sent an E-mail to Catalina about a problem with the wood spacer rotting on my 25 wing keel. They replied within a day with instructions & a diagram. Very impressed.

Russ,

I would suggest you join and refer to www.catalina30.com site and email list. Lots of advice there.
