Jim Cummins and C-28 Rudder Sensor Installation

I'm trying to get in contact with Catalina owner (C-28) Jim Cummins who posted a great photo piece on his RayMarine rudder position indicator as an upgrade for an ST4000 plus autopilot. I've the ST4000MK2 on my Hunter 326 and is thinking of installing a rudder position sensor. I hope this would improve the autopilot performance when on sail. Have you had yours installed? If yes, could you tell me if it makes a difference?
