What are the problem points in a C-22?

I'm going to survey a C-22 for a friend of mine over the weekend; aside from the obvious items to look for, what are problems areas indigenous to the C-22?
Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.,
send your responses to bobsail5@yahoo.com RE:C-22. Thanks.

Your request is strange. If you have the competence to do a marine survey, you shouldn't need any comments from chat boards; if you do not, readers shouldn't contribute their knowledge to a sham that may cost someone money or injury down the road.

No ill will intended, just my opinion.

Good luck to the prospective boat buyer.

It's nice of you to help a new sailor. Click on this hyperlink for a guide to self-surveying a C22 that I found on the internet. You might find it helpful.

Wow...I'm kinda new here...some of the "senior members" are brutal. I can imagine what it would be like crewing on their boats.

You don't indicate how old this boat is or whether it's got a swing or fixed keel. The entire boat needs to be gone over, but I offer the following specific items (from my own experience as an owner of a 1976 C-22). If it has a swing keel, you need to check the bolts attaching the keel to the hull. You also need to check the keel winch system (winch, cable, attachment of cable to keel). The hose pipe and clamp(s) that attach to the "cone" where the cable enters and exits the hull needs to be checked for leakage, age, wear, etc. I'd also check the lights (running and steaming), particularly where it plugs into the deck.
