Hey everyone, I just purchased a C-15 which I am fixing up. Can anyone tell me the length of the trap wires? I've searched the Internet and can't find the specs for them. Thanks!
I was googling to find out more about your boat because I was curious. It looks very similar to my Chrysler LoneStar 16.
I found some info website that offers a tuning manual but wants $9.95 to download it.
If you are referring to trapeze wires, I would imagine that you could judge the length by whatever length places you at a comfortable angle when hiking. It will depend on your height and length of your legs.
Thank you so much! I've never seen trap wires in my life, but I understand how they work. So, knowing that I can just measure it without messing anything up is a big help!
There are many photos on the internet. Many have a fixed length with some type of carabiner to clip to that is at about your head or above. Many have an adjustable bridle attached to that fixed cable to adjust to set the length to what is comfortable for the user.
I've seen some photos where the hiker has bent legs and is very low, almost in a sitting position. That would feel too low for me.
There is also talk about how it is recommended to have some quick release attachment so you don't get tangled in the rigging, under the boat of it gets turtled.
We are talking about a Coronado 15 right? check on the Murrays.com sports sight it is mostly catamarans but you could use the trap wires and adjusters for a Hobie 14 or 16 on your boat. they are a good source for all things trapeze.Trapeze Accessories
