Our former slipmates and good friends have a 2002 C310, which we've sailed and spent much time on. We've seen just about every sq inch of that boat - having lived on it for a week when cruising the islands with them during our early '04 transition between selling our last boat and purchasing True Blue.

Although Catalina uses some low-cost materials in their interiors, such as press-board and laminates, no where did we see any OSB (oriented strand board) panels used. As Faster implied, OSB would break down in minutes if exposed to the ocean environment.

My guess is the PO used that panel either as a template or perhaps a temporary patch.

And, most likely, this boat was completed on a Friday, or a Monday.

Is that the same shape as the larger table?

The board says 2004 so it would appear that a PO used it to convert the v-berth to a trapezoid berth.

That's the expiration date in case you have to eat it.
