Hood SeaFurl 810 repair

Does anyone know how to replace the continuous loop line that controls the furler? Also were can I get this line?

You can buy a fid and do the tapered line splice yourself. I'm assuming you're using a double braided dacron or polyester, like the one that is on mine. There are many books on splicing this type of line. I've found videos on line for 3 ply splicing... a search might turn up video for splicing this line.

Other than doing it yourself you can ask at a marine pro shop about getting someone local to you to tapered splice the line for you. The other option is to take the furl apart and send in the bottom unit.

Brion Toss Brion Toss Yacht Riggers, Sailboat Rigginghas a great set of books, DVDs on the topic. He also sells a slicing wand which makes the job incredibly simple.
BTW, I have since changed over to a Harken furler.
