I also use a swivel mount such as the one jackytdunaway showed above. It's nice to be able to move it around to any angle. It has a nut on it that can be tightened to prevent it from swinging, which will be ok around the dock or anchorage but i'm not sure I would trust it at sea, probably secure it with a strap or just take it down.
