mast raising C27

Can anyone tell me where to find info on building or buying parts to add mast raising capability to my 1986 C 27. I have access to alum. and s.s. welding and machine shop.

I keep going back to this web site over and over about this Catalina 27 refit:
blumhorst.com/catalina27/catalinahomepage

On it is this link to where he got his hinged mast step, which I hope to order soon...
ballengerspars.com/patslist2001-02

He used the M30 model.

Check out Bruce Binghams "The Sailors Sketchbook". He gives a pretty good description of a mast lowering system.

Check on the International Catalina 27 - 270 Association web site. There are plans and materials list for a mast raising/lowering rig made from common 2 X 4 lumber. (making one myself for this years launch)

Re: mast raising C27

I referenced this video many times before lowering my mast. It is not too difficult and can be done with two people although a 3rd probably would not hurt. The A-frame made out of 2x4 is stable and works well, just be sure to secure the feet to the deck and have all lines taught.
