1988 Capri 18 HIN question
Hello,
I just looked at a 1988 Capri 18 and am considering purchasing it. I looked for the HIN stamped in the stern and it wasn't there. There was a metal plate that was screwed to the cockpit side of the stern on the center line of the boat. It had CP18 and 258 imprinted on it. Is this common for the 1988 Capri 18's? Is there another location for the complete HIN somwhere else on the boat?
I am concerned about relying on a screwed on metal plate with an incomplete HIN.
The owner has what appears to be the original sales document as well as title to the boat.
