Catalina 27 rudder needed!

The Jesus nut backed off of the bolt that holds the rudder post to the tiller head during a storm while the boat moored... Goodbye rudder!

Need a replacement... Preferably used ($700+ for a new fabrication). I like the "Booth" design but I'd rather not spend that much.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? No one in Annapolis or the Eastern Shore has anything...

If the boat's still on the mooring--or you know where the mooring is--it might be worth hiring a diver for an hour or two to see if you can find your old rudder, no?

Unfortunately it was moored off of MCB Quantico in the Potomac River. The currents through there, combined with the fact that it was a huge storm, made it highly unlikely that it remained in the area after its departure from my boat. Then I was transferred to Cali and the boat has been in a slip at Quantico since. I'm back now, and I need to get the boat out of the base marina ASAP...

I also need a rudder for my Catalina 27. I hit some sort of submerged obstacle and bent the rudder post. Who did you find that would fabricate something for $700? I'm looking at about $1,400 for a new rudder through Catalina Direct. If you get more than 1 response, let me know.
