C27 Cabin Hand Holds

We plan to do more ocean sailing in our C27 and there are no hand holds in the cabin. I was thinking about adding some and wonder if anyone has added overhead or bulkhead handrails to their 27?

I was thinking about getting or making a set that would be the mirror image of the handrails on top of the cabin and use the same holes and everything just with long screws going through both sets of rails essentially bolting them together through the overhead.

Anyone try this?

Like this? top Left, There were there when I got the boat but we removed them and reinstalled it was a PITA! but yes you can through bolt with 10/32 long screws. the do come in handy when heeled more the a few degrees! http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...Picture024.jpg

That's how my Pearson 28 and C&C 35 are done. You can recess the nuts in the handles.
