Re: Sea Nettles

We have been cruising the lower Bay for a couple of weeks now and are seeing tons of them and they are really large. We're currently in Oxford and the Choptank and Little Choptank are heavy with them. We saw many of them in Hampton a few weeks ago. It's too bad because in this heat it would be nice to take a dip off the swim platform on occasion. We worry about the raw water intakes too. Chuck

Re: Sea Nettles

I was thinking of bringing my kids to Rock Hall next weekend to do some sailing and, possibly, some swimming. Are the nettles that far north?

Yes they are in Swan Creek. I wouldn't swim there anyway.. We went swimming in Langford Creek on the Chester and didn't see any. Have them swim in the HH pool

Re: Sea Nettles

That's probably what we'll end up doing, Dave, but they've been dying to swim off the boat all season. They LOVED that last year.

Re: Sea Nettles

If they really want to swim, head up the Chester as Dave noted or Worton and/or still pond.

Re: Sea Nettles

I didn't notice them floating past the Flat / High / Big Island area of the Rhode River this past weekend.

That's because they were waiting under the boat for you to jump in and attack
jimgo and TJC45 like this.
