Sue Creek (in middle river) with a 4'10" draft?

Anyone spend time (overnight) in sue creek? I am curious on the low tide depth for anchorage in there. Chart is marked as 5'. I motored in last week and I found about 6.5 or so in the middle but the tide was still going to drop maybe 3/4 of a foot.

Seems like a great, protected anchorage but maybe not sailboat friendly.

Thoughts?

I've been in there a couple of times but with a boat that drew 4'. The water is shallow but if you are simply looking for an overnight anchorage, it is doable (except in periods of high winds out of the N or NW when the water is blown out of the bay). I would not consider it for a marina as you could have many occasions where you couldn't get out or back in.

We overnighted there several times back when we kept Fretless on the Middle River 12 years ago. We only draw 4 with the rudder & centerboard down but we never had to raise anything in the middle of the creek. As noted, you wouldn't want to be there when water is being blown out of the bay.

Back then, in the summer, there were always a lot of powerboats though they quieted down after dark. Quieter after Labor Day. Itis (or was) a pretty place.

We made the mistake of anchoring there once when there was a large party going on at one of the houses on shore. They cranked up a big sound system. It was the first time wed ever heard the song "Who Let the Dogs Out." Must have been the first time for the partygoers as it got played over and over and over. Fortunately about 11:00 they shut things down an we got a good night's sleep and a story. I wasn't smiling at the time (after the first few times through the song) but I sure do smile thinking back on it.

I draw 4.5 feet. I don't go anywhere with less than 7.
My yacht club has a tradition whereby folks that have run aground must sign a old centerboard at the award banquet. I signed it once when I had a Gemini that only drew 22 inches. I'm not signing it again.

Fells Point Yacht Club rafts up in there sometimes, but we can't get in, we draw about 5.5.

I draw 4.5 board up. We limit ourself to 6 ft depths. Depends on tide change and wind direction though.
