Can anyone recommend the best CG for the Bay? We'd like information on good anchorages as well as boat yards and marinas. (Some of the guides I've seen only publish info on those marinas that advertise.)

"Cruising the Chesapeake, A gunkholer's guide" by Shellenberger is the classic around here. A revised edition came out a few years ago. Hundreds of anchorages are rated for beauty and interest, in addition to the usual inventory of services. There are no ads.
A more commercial guide, though very useful, is the one put out annually by Chesapeake Bay Magazine. The drawings make it easy to get in to tricky anchorages. We use both guides.
We depend on the one published by the Chespeake Bay Magazine. In addition to detailed info on anchorages, it has info on marinas, restuarants, etc.... and distances between the most popular destinations.
