"Cruising the Chesapeake, A gunkholer's guide" by Shellenberger is the classic around here. A revised edition came out a few years ago. Hundreds of anchorages are rated for beauty and interest, in addition to the usual inventory of services. There are no ads.
A more commercial guide, though very useful, is the one put out annually by Chesapeake Bay Magazine. The drawings make it easy to get in to tricky anchorages. We use both guides.
