Re: Memorial Day Weekend

I'm going to do it this year... I'm going to walk from 1 end of our little puddle to the other, never touching the water... COME ON PEOPLE BRING YOUR BOATS, Last year I was SO CLOSE! Enough of the PWCs (lake lice) too, they move too much.

Seriously though, I've managed to scrape out some decent sailing on Memorial Day. One just has to have the proper expectations of how crowded it'll be. Get on the water early, and back before noon...

We get the double whammy too, cause we're a marina and campground, with the "opening day" for the campground celebrated the same weekend.

Re: Memorial Day Weekend

All I want for Memorial Day is for our boat to be in the water. At this point hoping for anything more than that is being greedy.

Re: Memorial Day Weekend

You could still sun yourself in the cockpit, or on the foredeck with the boat on the hard.

We want pictures!

Re: Memorial Day Weekend

They use both sides of the road for winter storage but yes, the boats along the sides of the two roads are for sale.

And no. There won't be pictures.

Re: Memorial Day Weekend

Most boats sail faster than Gary's, but at my age, I'm not in a hurry to do anything. My top speed is only 10.1 MPH, which when it was happening, I felt like I was flying. I got to 8.3 last weekend, which was fantastic as far as I'm concerned. And, my boat doesn't heel more than 10 to 12 degrees on a 20 knot wind on a beam reach.

Wanna race?

Gary

Re: Memorial Day Weekend

There is something to be said for stability, especially if a girl is sunning herself on your boat.
