secluded anchorages.. on the bay?

Sadly, I think I already know the answer with the demands for waterfront property... But, I was wondering if there are any places on the Bay that are actually not in view of peoples homes and back yards? Still pond is nice, been there, ordinary point real nice on the sasafrass, although not really secluded. the gunkholers guide isn't much help on this topic it seems either.

There are some spots on the Wye River that are pretty isolated. I haven't been up the Chester to Chestertown in a few years, but I recall that there were a number of spots along the river as it narrows nearer to the city where there were no houses in sight.

Still Pond is about as secluded as they come, I recall the Bohemia river being well secluded too, but very shallow. I will be interested if anyone else post something, of course then it may not become so secluded

Per Chef's last line, I no longer give out my (truly) favorite anchorages on the Chesapeake. When pressed, I usually reply Fairlee Creek, Middle River, Spa Creek, Dobbins Island, etc. (For those who don't know, all those are stinkpotter havens -- and Spa Creek is the Main Street of creeks in Annapolis.)

Incidentally, although it's not as much of an issue with the decline of the crab population in recent years, there are several secluded places I've found that suddenly weren't so secluded about 4 AM when the watermen decided to lay their trot lines across my anchor rode.

when we were sailing up from Deale were I bought the boat. We stopped behind Dobbins Island.. sheese!!! Power boat heaven! One (about 60ft) had a disco ball rotating in his piliot house! And of course all the smaller power boats had to gather around for the all night party! Then, upon arriving at the Sasafrass it was allot nicer. We kept the boat at sailing assoc. for the rest of the summer. Now I'm back home in Bristol PA on the tidal Delaware. We hope to head down to the Bay soon this month. Marina hopping doesn't interest me very much.. but then I never liked familing campgrounds for camping trips!

I was looking at the Wye river and yes it does look like it may have more hiding places. thanks all for your input!

Langford creek is pretty far away from everything, nice and quiet. Langford Bay Marina is pretty quiet as far as marinas go. Alot of nice cruising boats there also. It's off the Chester River. Also the Corsica River is right there in the same area off of the Chester, never been up that one but I hear it's nice. You could try aroud those two or head up to Chestertown in the same trip.

We like the Chester River..Lots of great anchorages. cakaway on Lankford Creek is great. Corsica also.

It's getting to be hard to find places that are truly out of site of houses. The last time I went up the Wye to my "get-away" spot there were houses being built.
