Per Chef's last
line, I no longer give out my (truly) favorite anchorages on the Chesapeake. When pressed, I usually reply Fairlee Creek, Middle River, Spa Creek, Dobbins Island, etc.

(For those who don't know, all those are stinkpotter havens -- and Spa Creek is the Main Street of creeks in Annapolis.)
Incidentally, although it's not as much of an issue with the decline of the crab population in recent years, there are several secluded places I've found that suddenly weren't so secluded about 4 AM when the watermen decided to lay their trot
lines across my
anchor rode.
