Maryland State Flag

Did you ever notice how many boaters fly the Maryland state flag UPSIDE DOWN?

We surely saw a bunch of them this weekend!

No surprise. Maryland is a fairly reliable "blue" state. (g)

I'm going to PO a few here, but I don't fly the Maryland flag at all.

In case anyone cares, here's the flag in question. Note how easy it would be to fly it upside down.

(And I cheated by putting a little arrow on mine so that I know which end is up.)

Certainly, that's true for the western shore. The Eastern Shore is a different story...

Political considerations aside, I thought I'd read somewhere that it was never appropriate to fly any state flag.

Not that I plan to strictly adhere to proper flag etiquette, cause I'm running up the "skull and bones" as soon as I get around to putting up my flag halayard.
